We move through the city every day. Buildings flash past us while we’re on our way to our destination. But what stories are hidden behind those facades? What happened here, before the city became what we know today? In the lead-up to Keti Koti, Theater Rotterdam, together with Sites of Memory, presents a theatrical city walk along locations in Rotterdam with a colonial history.

We pause to reflect on what happened on this ground. What traces of the slavery past are still tangible here? Join this historical route and be surprised along the way by performances of dance, spoken word, and music. It promises to be a special journey through time that brings history back to life. This walk is for everyone who wishes to commemorate Keti Koti and is curious about the stories of Rotterdam that have remained unseen for too long.

Good to know: the walk is suitable for curious minds aged 12 and up. We walk outside, so check the weather in advance and dress accordingly. This walk is accessible for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility, but please keep the following in mind:
It is a fairly intensive walk, and someone must be available to assist in pushing you throughout the Memory Walk.
